darkcore truth site & brand

Aside from interactive design & creative coding, my passion is producing music, DJ-ing, and event promotion. After moving to Berlin and eventually Italy, I wanted to create an online presence to showcase my music & Darkcore Truth identity.

The brand and visual aesthetic I created for my artist persona captures my “baddie pop thrasher” musical style, and the site provides me a place to drop my latest mixes, releases, and content from events. With the branding & interactive touches I created, this one is truly a favorite of my work, I’m extremely proud of the result.

As both the creative lead and a strategic consultant, I worked in collaboration with their team to provide beautiful and thoughtful mobile user flows & prototypes, including a complete set of exemplary personas & respective “journal-style” story themes.

An exciting new trend in interactive design is the use of distortion and displacement effects on images.

After exploring many different techniques for image distortion
(SVG image displacement, Canvas libraries, WebGL), and landed on a slick distortion effect library that allows you to quickly explore filtering techniques without extensive cross-browser testing and heavy load times.

Plume is one of the foremost providers of telehealth services for the queer and trans community. They connect users with resources and up-to-date information on state-by-state laws and regulations for gender affirming care.

As their organization & membership grew, Plume needed a brand refresh, and to find scalable ways to organize their content and bring it all together in a comprehensive visual identity and design system.
